Mandy Rabon

Thrilled to begin her new adventure, Amanda ‘Mandy’ Rabon counts it such a privilege to join the Church of God Children’s Home staff.  But what she considers an even greater honor is being a loving wife to her husband (Pastor Brian Rabon) as well as the #1 cheerleader mom to their sons Andrew, Isaac and Logan.  It explains why she has been so passionate about and grateful for being an at-home mom for 12 years.

Mandy wholeheartedly believes in actively supporting the life of the church.  She not only leads the Empowered Women’s Ministry and Choir at River of Life (the church her husband founded in 2005), but also is always cheerfully willing to assist behind the scenes – whether that means changing a baby’s diaper in the Preschool, sweeping up the foyer, or learning how to operate the sound system.  Because she loves to sing to the Lord, you may even catch her humming while filing or entering data into the computer.

Originally from Whiteville, NC she is very excited to apply her biblical motto (Col. 3:23) while finally using her office administration degree outside of her church and home.

John Lucas

John Victor Lucas, who is originally from Norfolk, VA (by way of his mother), moved to North Carolina in 1986 after visiting frequently and loving the area. Prior to coming to the home in 1998, John worked as a printer for twenty years and then served as a pastor.  John, like his wife Jo Ann, has also worn many hats during his time at Our Home, from House Parent, Maintenance Manager, and finally as Case Manager.

Libby Richardson

Elizabeth (Libby) Richardson has worn many hats, but the hat that fits her best is working with children and youth.  Although her first career was with a pathology lab, Libby has always enjoyed working with young people, whether through teaching Sunday School or volunteering with the youth group.  Over the years, Libby felt the calling to do more with children's ministry.  Through a pastor friend, she was introduced to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home where she and her husband, Larry, began their work in residential group homes.  Libby and Larry have also worked at Palmer Home in Mississippi.  They finally landed here in 2008, which is where they felt they were supposed to be.  And we agree!

Ever since coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ in high school,Suzanne Rose Meehan has sought to live her life showing God's love to others.  Originally from Long Island, New York, Suzanne & her family were transplanted to North Carolina in 1989.  Her ministry experience comes from serving her Family, Homeschooling, working in a Christian retreat Center, working 3rd Key managerial position in Hanes, & 15 years of facilitating a worship dance ministry in the Charlotte & surrounding areas.  Volunteering brought Suzanne's family to the Church of God Children's Home in 2009. 4 years later she was hired PT to work donations & special events, & to run the campus-based clothing supply closet.  Suzanne has now been full-time since 2015 when COGCH opened its community thrift store called  2nd Treasures.  2ND TREASURES Thrift store has a dual purpose. The store provides support to the Home & functions as a community outreach & information center that connects people with the many giving opportunities available here.  2nd Treasures Store is open every Wednesday & Friday 9-1 &  2-5 pm & Saturday 9-4 pm. Suzanne's favorite part of being in this ministry is the time she spends with the residence giving them the clothes & items they need & encouraging them in their walk with the Lord.
